About me: I have been in a relationship with my partner since 1991. We were allowed to legally marry in 2012 on our 20th anniversary of our civil union. We have three dogs and a cat.
We had our own business until the beginning of this year. I was diagnosed with a neurological muscular disease that has made me unable to work. We have been dealing with this for three years but, the stress of getting up and having to perform at a high stress position was just taking too much of a toll and the doctors finally said I needed to start to live for me and not live to work.
I miss people, I used to have pen pals when I was in high school and military that I would write every week but once we got out we just had life get in the way and the letters became fewer and fewer until we just lost track of each other. I am now looking for something to fill more time with that is constructive. I like wood working, glass work, clay and cement work for hobbies, but I am always looking to learn more. I like history, politics, religion although I have had bad experiences with organized religion in the small town and LGBT over the past few years. I can talk about anything and my policy is as long as there is mutual respect then all is well. Most of my friends do not agree with me on many issues but, we can talk about them. Although, I also like the WNBA, and NWSL, Olympics, Football, I watch some Baseball mainly with my in-laws. I do deal with a lot of pain and so I have had a huge life change, but I am working on things to accept them. And I will talk about it but I do not like to focus on it, which is why I am looking for someone to talk to that would bring in a whole new focus, thoughts, and things to discuss.
Kind of pen pal I am looking for: I would prefer a female pen pal. Someone who is open minded willing to talk about things in the world, your life, share your thoughts, hobbies, and maybe share recipes. I am pretty open. I have not led a perfect life and I do not judge. That is really all I ask in return. I realize that this is not the perfect way to find a pen pal but, I figure I might be able to get someone that we would like to converse with. I cannot promise that I will always write a long letter, but I will always write even if it is to say that I just don’t think that this is a relationship that we should pursue. I don’t want to keep anyone hanging, and I would hope you would consider doing the same.
